Pastor incensed by Elon Musk's bankrolling of Trump's divisive presidential campaign urges eligible voters to support national unity.
OAKLAND, CA — Oct. 25, 2024 — Pastor Dave Hodges of the world's largest psychedelic Church, the Church of Ambrosia, said today that eligible voters who sign his Pledge of Unity before election day will receive an eighth of an ounce of magic mushroom.
The Pledge supports the unity called for in the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution and the Freedom for All Religions protected by the First Amendment. If all of the approximately 258 million citizens eligible to vote signed, the Church could give out over 2 million pounds of magic mushrooms!
The Preamble, written in 1787, seeks to unite the states on the following basic principles:
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
"We are one, and we are at our best when we are unified," Hodges said in a rebuke of Musk's efforts to further Trump’s actions to divide the nation. "We don't want people to drive us apart. We want the blessings of liberty that allow us to thrive. We will truly thrive when we show one another love and respect."
Hodges said all eligible voters who sign the Pledge by Election Day on Nov. 5 will receive their eighth (3.5 grams) of magic mushrooms. Pledge signers must visit and join the Church in Oakland or SF to get their magic mushrooms. The Church has more than 118,000 members. The Church will waive its first monthly $5 membership fee for those who join the Church to take advantage of this offer.
The language of the Pledge is available via shrooms4unity.com. Hodges said that the offer of shrooms — sacramental psilocybin mushrooms — is available to church members regardless of how they cast their ballots. But he made no secret that he supports Vice President Kamala Harris for the nation's highest public office.
“I’ve been a fan of Kamala Harris since she was Attorney General of California.” Hodges said, “During her time as AG she was very supportive of the cannabis industry, and she is the only candidate who I believe would actually legalize cannabis at a federal level.”
Although some have criticized Harris for her work as a prosecutor, Hodges said her knowledge of the legal system and her life experience “show her to be uniquely qualified to guide our country in a positive direction.”
“We need a leader who’s seen the streets of Oakland and witnessed the victims of a broken criminal justice system to help change this country for the better,” Hodges said.
